THE TASTY BITS THIS WEEK
Special Feature Story of the Week
Each week I check in with Marshall Kirkpatrick for the latest in Tech news and tweets. Whether he is tirelessly building his new project Plexus Engine or continuing his work with Read Write Web, Marshall always has his finger on the crystal ball of whats new in the world of technology. This week I will show you to three things that Marshall has shown me that I think are totally awesome.
Last week and this week we are thinking backwards and discussing Twitter. This week I am going to explain the symbols, techniques and the wandering target that we think of Twitter.
Here are what the symbols mean
SPECIAL SUPPORTLAND TIDBIT
Well, I turned 40 this last week and even though it is just a number, it certainly made me look around at everything and smile…Once it was over. With this being superbowl sunday and all, I happen to know there is one bar that shows English Premier league soccer early in the mornings on Saturday and Sunday, BUT only once a year do they break out the big screen TV and play the AMERICAN football game…On Superbowl Sunday. That place is the Horse Brass Pub. This place is a Portland landmark and long time bar owner Don Younger, the original owner of The HorseBrass passed away on January 31 2011. Since my birthday coincided with the one year aniversary of Mr. Youngers death, we decided to spend some of my birthday there remembering Don, and enjoying some fine beer, food and company! This place is a traditional English style bar and they don’t drift from their roots. Dart boards, long wooden tables, and DECADES of tobacco stains on the walls keep this place feeling older than the 50 year old scotch you could try from behind the bar!
SO go there for the Superbowl, go there for some Youngers Special Bitter (a famous ale made by rouge brewing for Dons Brother Bill), go there and throw some darts, go there for Bangers and Mash, go there for some truly vintage scotch, go there for a Scotch Egg, but mostly Go there because The Horsebrass is one of the many reasons Portland is such a special city…and on this past Tuesday I made the place a part of my own unforgettable Portland Scramble Birthday!
