THE TASTY BITS THIS WEEK
Special Feature Story of the Week
-On Friday the Team announced 4 additional preseason games down south in Carson California at their MLS training camp. They will be playing the Impact, Galaxy, Dynamo and Fire
-In the 2012 Supplemental Drafts, the Timbers have picked up Doug Herrick from St Mary’s College, Logan McDaniel from Loyola Marymount, and Brendan King a fellow Notre Dame alum of Bright Dike
-This past Thursday, head coach John Spencer was on local sports radio and explained the trade of Kenny Cooper. He is very confident with Darlington Nagbe, Bright Dike, Jorge Perlazza and Eddie Johnson in their roles as forwards and look forward to finding a big ‘back to goal’ striker.
Each week I check in with Marshall Kirkpatrick for the latest in Tech news and tweets. Whether he is tirelessly building his new project Plexus Engine or continuing his work with Read Write Web, Marshall always has his finger on the crystal ball of whats new in the world of technology. This week I will show you to three things that Marshall has shown me that I think are totally awesome.

This coming week, from Monday the 23rd through the 27th they are having their first pledge drive! This is in their intentional plan to be completely independent as soon as they can. Another goal is to have all live dj’s and programing 24/7 playing and promoting all things local.
This is quote from the KZME Official Website.
Here’s a list of how we will define ‘local’:
Music written by local artists, performed by local artists, played in a local venue.
Music played by local artists in a local venue.
Music written by local artists, played by local artists in a non-local venue.
Music played in a local venue by non-local musicians.
Music that was influenced by a local musician.
Music that was recorded in a local studio.
Music distributed by a local label.
Music that ‘sounds’ like it came from Portland or belongs in Portland.
Music, that in some way, reflects local values, history or landscape.
In addition, it is our intention to play music not already well represented on the local dial. THIS sounds like another perfect Perfect Portland Scramble!
IF any of this sounds good to you, go to their website by clicking on the link above and listen in, volunteer and even contribute to their awesome mission during their pledge drive this week!
